Home Defense: An Overview

In this four hour class we’ll look at the various levels of security involved in protecting an home. Although firearms are always our last resort, we’ll discuss options like semi-automatics pistols, shotguns, carbines, and rifles. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of the different choices and how to prepare a family plan for every home owners greatest concern: the home invasion. We will cover the following topics: -The criminal mindset -Preparing to defend your home with an eye to it’s unique features -The functioning and effectiveness or different firearms and features -Options to increase your situational awareness at home -Security options to harden your home and budget priorities -Self defense: a neighborhood plan -Does a Concealed Carry License make sense for you? -Developing a plan for coordinating with first responders -Tactical considerations involved in home defense -Insurance options for criminal and civil suits possibly resulting from self defense -Preparing for Mental Wellness, talk about it Warning: the subject matter covered here will be intense. We’ll be walking through scenarios taken from real life examples. It is not our goal to scare anyone but to prepare our students for appropriate action by giving them the clarity of mind that comes from considering consequences before action, not after. We believe it is our duty to our family to protect them not just physically, but spiritually, financially, and psychologically as well. That requires considering possibilities most would rather not, we respect that and ask that you come prepared for an adult conversation with retired law enforcement instructors about real world experiences. There will be no live fire portion of this course as it is designed to have the student consider the right tools for their personal situation. Instead, we will offer a $100 discount applied for any future live fire trainings the student chooses to take after the course.
