16 hr Concealed Carry Course
Let us guide you on your path to your concealed carry license.
Service Description
This course is taught by a California licensed conceal carry instructor and meets the standards for the state mandated 16 hours of training for a concealed carry license. We cover self defense laws, safe storage and transportation, holster use and selection, ammunition, caliber selection, mental health and awareness, and much more. It's fair to say that the responsibility that goes with carrying a concealed weapon in public is no small matter. Consider this course an over view of what you need to know and expect to expand on the individual skill sets as your time allows and skills improve. At Field and Hearth, we believe that one of our unique facets is that we give our shooters the opportunity to routinize their skill sets into instantly accessible self defense techinques by introducing the motor skills first, then applying them in a realistic setting, and finally providing the on going practice opportunities in our Dojo offerings under timed settings so you can objectively measure your acquired skills. This process of learning the motor skills and then practicing them until they are routinized under pressure is the only way we can actually apply they skills in self defense settings when needed. The trifecta of being introduced to the skill, routinizing the skill, and then practicing it under pressure is what makes our training style unique. Most training companies will sell a weekend course and then leave the student without the opportunities to continue practicing in a safe environment which means the skills rapidly degrade and diminish the course's value after qualification. Recognizing this, we've set up Field and Hearth trainings to follow a different philosophy. Although our CCW course completely fulfills the required 16 hrs of training necessary to apply for a CCW in California, we like to think of it as the course overview for a deeper dive into the individual elements of a well rounded self defense shooter. How you approach that process after your qualification is up to you. We're here for you every step of the way.
